Lignum Vitae in 4" Pot - Pre Bonsai
Lignum Vitae in 4" Pot - Pre Bonsai
Lignum Vitae has several characteristics that make it an interesting species for bonsai. Its naturally small foliage works well in proportion with a miniature tree, while the trunk gradually develops a rugged, mature appearance.
Its slower growth rate also allows the bonsai artist to develop the structure deliberately rather than constantly fighting vigorous growth.
These starter plants have plenty of potential for developing different bonsai styles depending on the individual trunk and branch structure.

☀️ Lighting ☀️
Lignum Vitae performs best outdoors with plenty of sunlight.Full sun encourages compact, healthy growth, although the tree can also tolerate partial sun. If your plant has been growing under nursery shade, gradually introduce it to stronger direct sunlight rather than moving it immediately into intense all-day sun.
This is primarily an outdoor bonsai species and should not be treated as a permanent indoor houseplant.
💧 Watering 💧
Water only when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Do not allow the plant to sit in soggy soil.Overwatering can lead to root rot, while underwatering may cause leaf drop.
Always ensure the pot has proper drainage.
🌥️Weather☀️
This bonsai prefers temperatures between 60–85°F (15–29°C). Protect from temperatures below 50°F. In winter or colder climates, add a heat pack at checkout if temps fall below 40°F.
