DESCRIPTION

Add timeless greenery to your home or garden with this beautiful Podocarpus Pre-Bonsai (Podocarpus macrophyllus). Also known as Japanese Yew or Buddhist Pine, this evergreen species is prized for its elegant upright growth, fine needle-like foliage, and exceptional suitability for bonsai training.

Whether you're just beginning your bonsai journey or expanding your collection, Podocarpus is one of the most forgiving and rewarding species to grow. Its dense foliage responds well to pruning, making it easy to shape into a beautiful bonsai over time.

Each plant is grown in a 4" plastic nursery pot and carefully selected for its healthy structure and vigorous growth. It is perfect for training, repotting, or simply enjoying as an attractive ornamental plant.

PLANT CARE

☀️ Lighting ☀️

Thrives in full sun to partial shade outdoors. Indoors, place near a bright window with several hours of direct sunlight for best growth.

Suitable for USDA Zones 8–11. Protect from prolonged freezing temperatures. In colder climates, grow as a container plant and move indoors or into a protected area during winter.

💧 Watering 💧

Water thoroughly when the top layer of soil begins to dry. Keep the soil evenly moist but avoid allowing it to remain soggy.

Podocarpus responds exceptionally well to pruning and shaping. Regular trimming encourages dense branching and compact growth, making it one of the best species for developing beautiful bonsai.
